"Judo" is a Japanese martial art and translates into English as "the gentle way". Ju: meaning "gentle" and Do: meaning "the way" emphasizes the concept of yielding to the opponent's power, redirecting his force to execute a throw or takedown.

Judo is a fun martial art and sport for all ages. It focuses on discipline, confidence, fitness, self-defense, and a way of life through the emphasis on self-respect and respect for others. Judo is also a full physical activity for top conditioning.

Judo is best known for its spectacular throwing techniques, but also uses ground grappling pins and holds. Our classes are taught on special mats for the comfort and safety of the students.
