1-Step Sparring Techniques 3 on 1

  1. High block, reverse punch, 90° side kick, side attack

  2. Move forward 45° & block, turn kick 90°, side attack

  3. Block inside open hand without moving the feet, turn kick, palm heel strike

  4. Block inside open hand without moving the feet, turn front jump kick, turning knife hand 90°

  5. Swing block, turn kick, side attack 90°, side kick

BLACK BELT PRINCIPLES – 3RD DAN

  1. Block against his power direction

    1. This is a truly hard style principle of defense. Matching force against force.

    2. However, the block is used to attack perssure points to disable the limb

  2. Move against my power direction

    1. A quick focused reverse of direction

    2. Requires an ability to make a quick recovery to move or attack in the opposite direction.

  3. Block on one foot after kick

    1. Requires a quick recovery to prepare to block on one leg

    2. Enables a person to defend more quickly after the kick

    3. Highly develops one’s balance.

  4. Block on one foot then attack

    1. This is the follow-up to principle #23.

    2. Power must still be generated from the hip region with little obvious movement

  5. Ki development

    1. Developed through breathing exercise

    2. Developed through reducing hip movement while maintaining power

  6. Attack three times on one step

    1. Triple kicks with the same foot

    2. 3 strikes with the same hand

    3. 3 blocks with the same hand

    1. Combination block and attack 3 times in a row with the same limb

  1. Attack the axis leg

    1. Strike the opponent’s support leg
